Sunburn Festival 2019 Will Take Place at Vagator Beach, Goa, this December

In a mega announcement, Sunburn will head to Goa this December, for the flagship event – Sunburn Festival. In 2016, the festival had been forced to leave its home for 9 years, and move to Pune for its 10th anniversary. Even though it might have enjoyed some successful editions at Pune, there is no doubt about the popularity that Goa held when it came to the flagship event and it seems like a lot of prayers have been answered, with this news announcement.

Earlier this year, Percept Live, the wholly owned subsidiary of Percept Ltd, had announced a strategic collaboration with Goa-based Klassique, represented by Shailesh Shetty, to co-promote all Sunburn events in Goa. Under this alliance, Sunburn held a 2 day smaller, sleeker version in Goa called Sunburn Klassique, at the Vagator beach. And that’s where Sunburn Goa 2019 will now take place, over a period of 3 days – a throwback to the previous editions that had been held at Goa.

Sunburn started in 2007 as a three-day music festival in Goa. The venue of the tenth edition of Sunburn in 2016 was shifted from Goa to Pune due to several reasons, including pending dues. One of the main reasons why Sunburn was forced to move out of Goa was the cost of the high inputs, to set up the festival. Harindra Singh, CMD, Percept Limited, had this to say, “We used to get 70,000-80,000 people a day. We left Goa as the costs had gone up. Government taxes and fees had become too expensive. Hotels and flights were expensive.” He further added, “In Goa, when it comes to December, everything goes up. Excess tourist inflow during that time also puts a strain on the infrastructure. Even fans had to pay too much.”

"Sunburn introduced the concept of dance music to India and has aided in building music tourism across the country. We're going in all guns blazing to make an even bigger mark in 2019. Goa has been the birthplace of Sunburn and it feels nostalgic to be coming home," said Sunburn CEO Karan Singh.

To this, Shailesh Shetty added, "Goa missed Sunburn and Sunburn missed Goa. I'm happy that we could work with Percept to bring Sunburn back home."

It will be interesting to see how Sunburn has managed to find a solution to this problem considering Goa still continues to be a major tourist destination towards the end of the year. For now, fans are excited about Sunburn Goa 2019, and can’t wait to see the lineup!

Perceptites participate in a Blood Donation Camp in Mumbai on World Blood Donor Day

On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, a Blood Donation Camp was organized by Percept on June 14, 2019 at the Training Room in P2, Mumbai. The objective of the Blood Donation camp was to generate awareness and enable Perceptites to participate in a Blood Donation drive to help blood transfusion patients. The Blood Donation Camp was set up by the K J Somaiya Hospital. A large turnout of Perceptites arrived on time at the venue to actively participate in the drive. The Doctors and Healthcare professionals present on venue initially gauged Perceptites on their eligibility to donate blood by checking their metabolism levels. Post a green light, employees were given a go ahead to donate their blood. The doctors took necessary precautions before injecting the donors, which included sterile environmental conditions and unused needles. Donors were also offered snacks after donating their blood to make sure that their energy and metabolism levels were steady before they headed back to their work desks. Percept Blood Donors also received a Certificate of Appreciation from the K J Somaiya Institute as a token of appreciation.
